San José

Day 1
  1. Day 1; Arrival in San José

    Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO).

    Private transfer to your downtown hotel.

    Walk through historic San José, including the National Theater and Central Market.

    Optional: Evening welcome dinner featuring Costa Rican specialties.

    Drive time to hotel: Approx. 35 minutes

Arenal

Day 2 - 4
  1. Day 2; Move to Arenal

    Depart San José after breakfast.

    Scenic drive past coffee and pineapple plantations to La Fortuna at the base of Arenal Volcano.

    Stop at La Fortuna village for a local lunch.

    Afternoon visit to Eco Termales hot springs to relax amidst jungle scenery.

    Drive time: Approx. 4 hours

  2. Day 3; Morning Guided Walk

    Morning guided walk across Arenal Hanging Bridges to explore the rainforest canopy.

    Afternoon free time to explore or choose optional excursions like waterfall horseback ride or volcano-view zipline.

Monteverde

Day 4 - 7
  1. Day 4; Journey to Monteverde

    Journey to Monteverde through scenic highland landscapes.

    Arrive in the cloud forest and settle into your hotel.

    Evening at leisure with optional night-walking tour to spot nocturnal wildlife.

    Drive time: Approx. 3.5 hours

  2. Day 5; Naturalist-Guided Walking Tour

    Naturalist-guided walking tour of Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve.

    Afternoon free time—consider a canopy tour (Sky Tram & Sky Trek) or visit the hanging gardens of hummingbirds and orchids.

  3. Day 6; Sarachí

    Depart Monteverde for Sarchí, Costa Rica’s artisan capital.

    Watch craftsmen paint traditional ox carts, then continue to San José.

    Farewell group dinner in the city.
