The window.

The National Hurricane Center publishes that the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. These islands sit inside the Atlantic basin, and those six months are the useful weather fact about them.

What an average season actually holds.

Most pages stop at the dates. The same source goes further: based on a 30-year climate period from 1991 to 2020, an average Atlantic season has 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes, the last measured at Category 3, 4 or 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

Those numbers describe the entire basin, which runs from the coast of Africa to the Gulf, over six months. They are the right way to hold the risk in mind: real, published, and not a prediction about one island in one week.

The qualification that comes with the dates.

The National Hurricane Center states that tropical cyclone activity sometimes occurs before and after these dates. The season is a convention describing when storms usually form, not a boundary that storms observe.

Practically, the window tells you when to buy the flexible fare, when disruption cover on a policy is worth its price, and when to read the current advisories in the days before you fly. It does not tell you that a September trip will be disrupted or that a March one cannot be.

Where to get a real forecast.

This page publishes no temperature, no rainfall figure and no sea temperature, because no source in its register states one and neither territorial tourism site will answer a request.

Three islands, three microclimates, one season.

St Thomas, St John and St Croix are separate islands with their own hills and their own leeward and windward sides, and a shower on one is not a shower on another. The published season applies to all three; the weather on the day does not. Ask locally, on the day, particularly before going out on the water.
