What a government actually publishes

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office states that the hurricane season in Bermuda normally runs from June to November. That is the whole of the official seasonal range available to this guide, and it is worth more than a table of averages because you can trace it.

The word normally is in the source and is kept here. A season describes when storms form, not when they arrive, and a published range is a planning tool rather than a prediction. Inside those months, buy insurance that covers disruption, prefer a booking you can move, and read the current official advice in the week you fly.

The sea, and the date the island uses

The same record notes that most people in Bermuda do not swim in the sea until after Bermuda Day in late May. The Government of Bermuda dates Bermuda Day to the fourth Friday in May and treats it as the opening of summer.

Take that as local knowledge rather than a temperature reading. It tells you what Bermudians themselves do, which is a better guide to whether the water is pleasant than any figure this page could print.

Rip currents are a weather fact, not a swimming one

North Atlantic, not Caribbean

Bermuda sits in the North Atlantic, roughly a thousand kilometers off the Carolinas. It is filed in the Caribbean Islands section of this site because that is where readers look for it. Weather expectations borrowed from that sea will not describe Bermuda's year, and none of the statements above is borrowed.

What is deliberately missing, and why

You will find no monthly temperature, no water temperature, no rainfall figure and no humidity number on this page. Not one of the eight sources in this guide's register publishes any of them.

Numbers of that kind are easy to produce and impossible for a reader to check, and a fabricated average looks exactly like a sourced one. Declining to publish is the honest result. For the week you are traveling, read a current forecast from a meteorological service, which is a better instrument than an annual average in any case.
