  • Clothing: There are no restrictions on what can be worn. Just make sure your t-shirts or tops are long enough to cover your stomach. A skirt or loose-fitting trousers are good in the heat and will protect you from the sun.

  • Cuisine: The typical staple foods in the southern part of Ghana include cassava and plantain. In the northern part, the main staple foods include millet and sorghum. Yam, maize and beans are used across Ghana as staple foods. Sweet potatoes and cocoyam are also important in the Ghanaian diet and cuisine. With the advent of globalization, cereals such as rice and wheat have been increasingly incorporated into Ghanaian cuisine.

Osu Castle

Osu Castle, also known as Christiansborg, the former house of the Ghanian president, in Accra, Ghana.

A 17th-century fortress situated on the beaches of Osu in Ghana's capital Accra, The first significant fort for most of its existence, served as Ghana's administrative center before the Jubilee House was built. The castle was transformed into a Presidential Museum in 2017.


Aburi Botanical Gardens

The Aburi Botanical Gardens are situated in this serene setting, and its steep terrain makes it one of the best places to take in a fresh breeze. Only three (3) acres of its approximately 160-acre overall land area have been developed. The remaining property used as a botanical reserve.

Independence Square

St. George's Castle
